Congratulations! Building your wedding registry list is one of the most fun parts of getting married! Everyone will be asking what they can buy for you for your big day! Don’t skip a wedding registry because it is “old school”. This is the opportunity to receive gifts that are worth far more than anything you would 1. buy for yourself or 2. have ever received.

As a recently married woman, we went through the millions wedding registry sites trying to figure out what we needed to include. After settling into our apartment, we found out what was really needed and I am here to share! To make it 10x easier for you to build your registry, I am sharing the exact items that you actually use after getting married.

5 Best Wedding Registry Tips:

1. Put the expensive items on the registry.
   • This is the one chance in your life that you will be gifted this much stuff! Register for the expensive Pottery Barn dishes, do not settle for the cheap ones!
2. Put items you WANT on your registry.
   • If you want the fancy blender because you LOVE smoothies, put it on there! If you want the big charcuterie board, put it on there! This is YOUR registry!
3. Only register at a couple Wedding Registry Websites –
   • You need to put Amazon because everyone uses it and people buy things last minute for wedding showers. Amazon is the only website with quick shipping. You should also do another store that does a variety of products: Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond are great choices!
4. Remember where you are living.
   • You don’t want to be stuck with big ticket items that you cannot fit anywhere. Only register for what your future living space needs. 
5. You can never registry for enough silverware sets, towel sets, plate or bowl sets, all the sets.
   • You go through kitchen items very quickly and doing dishes is never fun. Registry for enough sets to host 4-6 people at least.

Good quality silverware is so expensive! Do yourself a favor and registry for a nice set that will last you a long time. Also, make sure you register for a full set. It is nice to have forks, spoons, and knives that match.

I LOVE this set of silverware. It has lasted so well since our wedding and never gets rusted from being washed too many times.

Kitchen Towels

You can never have enough kitchen towels. Add two sets of your favorite color kitchen towel to your wedding registry list.

I love this pack because it has a couple different patterns but all within the same color scheme. We are constantly using these to dry your hands, dry dishes, wipe counters, etc. They are also so easy to throw in the wash on a weekly basis.

Knife Set

A good knife set is so important for your wedding registry list. Cutting meat, fruit, veggies is so much easier with a quality knife. This set also comes with steak knives so it is great to have in your kitchen.

I love this sleek, black knife set for my counter. This set comes with the perfect amount of knives so we don’t run out during the week if we have not run the dishwasher.

Kitchen Gadget Set

A kitchen gadget set is one of the top wedding registry must haves! It is an often forgotten item because it is small and seems not important, but it is!

This set is one of the best ideas for couples living together. Neither of us really thought to buy these when we moved in together so this set was perfect. It has everything you would need for cooking!

Measuring Cups and Spoons

It is the little wedding registry ideas that make the biggest difference in your lives! A measuring cup and spoon set is so important for cooking and baking so you want to make sure this is on your checklist!

I love this set because it matches and has the important sizes. I cannot eyeball a correct amount of ingredients so I desperately needed this set!

Dish Set

Dishes can be so expensive so you want to make sure a cute, quality set is on your wedding registry! A whole set is a a great gift for a family member to spoil you with or for a couple friends to pitch in on. Having bigger gifts on your registry is important!

If you need a high quality stainless steel cooking set, this is the perfect one to add to your wedding registry! It is a high ticket item that is great to add to your registry so you don’t have to buy it for yourself.

We love cooking with stainless steel to avoid the plastic coating on non stick pans getting on our food! They also wash really nice in the dishwasher so it makes for an easy clean up after dinner.

Glass Mixing Bowl Set

This is a nice glass bowl set that comes in a variety of sizes. It has large mixing bowls and very small ones for any occasion in the kitchen. This is a great wedding registry idea!

We LOVE this set. The large bowls are great for mixing and the smaller sizes are perfect for sauces and dressings.

A hand mixer is not just for baking, it comes in handy for so many different recipes. This hand mixer also comes with multiple attachments for cooking.

I love this mixer because I needed a simple, cute mixer for a few recipes here and there so it this was perfect for me on my wedding registry.
