I don’t like to call myself a morning person because of course I want to lay in bed and not get up. Simple Morning Habits that will Change your Life
1. Don’t hit snooze.

One of the worst ways to start your day is snoozing your alarm and going back to sleep. Morning habits of successful people do not include snoozing their alarm. Your body cannot get back into deep sleep so it is not worth trying.
I know if I snooze my alarm, I will feel worse than if I would have just got up when the alarm went off. The alarm was set for a reason, it is a time to get up!
2. Set the alarm for the same time everyday.

Circadian rhythm is a real thing and it is so important to have a healthy morning habit of waking up at the same time. It will get easier to get up everyday if your body is on a similar cycle. Even if each day looks different from a schedule perspective, it is so important to wake up a the same time every day.
This is one of the life changing daily morning habits that have transformed my mornings. I am no long exhausted when the alarm goes off because my body is use to waking up at that time.
3. Get out of bed right after the alarm.
One of the most toxic morning habits is laying in bed, from both a mental and physical perspective. If you do not get right out of bed after the alarm goes off, you will either go back to sleep, scroll on your phone, or become stressed about your day.
Turning off the alarm and getting right out bed has been amazing in my daily life. I know that if I do not get up right away, it will be another 15-30 minutes before I actually get up. HOW WASTEFUL!
4. Drink water.

One of the #1 best, healthy morning habits is to drink a big glass of water. The human body is dehydrated after sleeping. Your body has not had water for the past 6-12 hours so it is so important to immediately drink water after you wake up.
I was SO bad about drinking water in the morning because I would go straight for coffee. Putting a cup of water next to my bed at night has now created the healthy morning habit of drinking water as soon as I wake up.
5. Make your bed.
If the bed is made, then there is no chance of getting back into bed. When the bed is made, it will automatically make the space feel clean and organized. Making the bed first thing is a one of the best morning habits for a productive day.
If my bed is made, I immediately feel so much better about my space. Making my bed guarantees that I will not get back into it after waking up.
6. Wash your face.

Nothing will wake you up more than a nice face wash. Daily morning habits like washing your face are not only perfect for waking you up, but it is great for your skin.
I have struggled with waking up and actually feeling awake. If I wash my face and do my skin care routine as soon as I wake up, I immediately feel so much more awake and ready for the day.
7. Change your clothes.
You feel how you look. Dress the part. Pajamas are made for sleeping so if you are in those clothes, your mind will associate that with sleep. Change your clothes when you wake up to get your mind ready for the day.
I lay out my workout clothes the night before so it makes it 10x easier to change my clothes. As soon as I am in a new outfit, my mind shifts from sleeping to productivity.
8. 15 minute self care or self help.

Self care is one of the most important daily morning habits to complete. Appreciate yourself, the people around you, and the life you live.

I love a walk, workout class, or a lift in the gym to kickstart my day. Doing exercise in the morning checks the box and I don’t stress about trying to fit it into my evening after work when I am tired.
10. Make your favorite drink or snack.
Give yourself a reason to love your morning. Make a coffee, tea, or pre workout snack part of your daily morning habits.
